Welcome

We are a growing and vibrant Anglican church of all ages on the edge of Hinckley in Leicestershire. We have lots going on throughout the week as well as our Sunday Service at 10.15am. We also host a gathering at 7pm each week.

We are all on a journey discovering what it means to live in the presence of our Heavenly Father; to know and experience, through the Holy Spirit, the transforming love and truth that Jesus Christ offers.

If you are looking for a Church family to join or are wanting to find out more about the Christian faith, then we would love to meet you. In the meantime take a look around our site to discover more about what we do as a Church.

First time at St John’s? First time at church?

Welcome! Below are a few bits of information to help you connect with us for the first time and know what to expect from your visit. For information about travel please click here.

Where can you park?

There is plenty of free parking on-site, with two disabled space at the front.

What should I wear?

Most people choose to dress casually but wear whatever you feel comfortable in!

Who should I find if I have any questions?

When you arrive at St John’s you will be greeted by our welcome team who will be “welcome team” lanyards. They’ll be able to help you any time during your visit.

What about my kids?

On Sunday mornings we run a full kid’s program. Our kids join us for the first few songs at the start of the service, then they go out to their groups - we’ll make it really clear when this time has come. For further details about our Kingdom Kids and Creche work, please click here. And for Kingdom Youth please click here

How about buggies and wheelchairs?

There is a dipped curb on the right-hand side of the church entrance as you face it. You can then use the front entrance for easy buggy and wheelchair access. If you would like to leave a buggy or wheelchair, then there is a corridor on the right-hand side once you enter the main foyer. You can leave them opposite the loos.

Where are the loos?

You will find toilets down the corridor off the foyer. There is a disabled access toilet and baby-changing facilities.

What can I expect during the morning service?

The service will start at 10:15 am and begin with a few songs, the words will be on the big screen for you. If you don’t know the songs, just relax and listen. Feel free to sing, clap, tap your feet – whatever you are comfortable with. Most people will stand if able during any music, but equally, feel free to sit if you wish.

Following the first few songs, there will be a few announcements and then, in the morning service, the children will head to their groups while the adults spend some more time in worship. This is followed by the day’s talk after which there will be an opportunity to respond to what have you have heard.

The morning service lasts approx. 1hr 30mins with coffee and tea available afterwards. If you have brought kids, you will need to collect them once the service has finished.

Communion

Once a month we share in communion together at St John’s. This is a time where those that believe are able to come forward and share in the symbolic bread and wine. If you would like to have a blessing, then please do come forward and bow your head to receive a blessing.

What can I expect during Sunday@7?

Sunday@7 is a fresh expression hosted at St John’s that meets weekly during term time at 7 pm on a Sunday evening. It’s an informal interactive entity that seeks to go deeper with Christ through worship, word and response. Doors open at 6:45 pm
