The first Messy Church at St John’s takes place this Saturday, 10th October, 3.30pm – 5.30pm. Come and join in!
Messy Church is a fun, informal – and messy! – time for families to get together once a month for craft activities, games, singing, a story from the Bible, and a shared meal together.
It is for those of all ages – children, parents, grandparents, carers, aunties, uncles, friends – to spend quality time together, to be creative, to discover more about God, and to enjoy a meal together.
It takes place on the 2nd Saturday of the month, 3.30pm – 5.30pm, at St John’s Church, Hinckley.
Over the last few years at St John’s, Xtra Time has provided an opportunity for families to come together in the busyness of life. More recently, we’ve realised that there are lots of similarities between Xtra Time (things like craft activities, singing, Bible stories, and a meal together) and Messy Church.
There are now lots of Messy Churches around the country (and beyond) and lots of good ideas for crafts and fun activities that we’ll be making use of at St John’s.
So we are continuing to explore what it means to be church together in an informal, family-friendly way, but we are now called Messy Church.
So why not come and join in on Saturday 10th October!
