“Prayer is one of the most dangerous things anyone can ever do” – Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury
These were Justin Welby’s words in a recent talk on prayer at the 24-7 Prayer Boiler Room community in Guildford. You can watch it online here.
Last year we joined together with other local churches to pray in the week leading up to Pentecost Sunday, and we are doing it again this year, from Sunday 17th until Sunday 24th May.
Like last year, we will have a prayer room at the United Reformed Church, The Borough, Hinckley, with creative prayer stations and resources to help us draw near to God and engage in the dangerous activity of prayer!
There will also be a town centre churches prayer walk on Monday 18th May starting at 7pm at St Peter’s Church.
The week will conclude with a joint Pentecost Celebration at Hope Community Church, Deveron Way, Hinckley, on Sunday 24th May at 6pm.
You can sign up online for a slot in the prayer room. Sign up to pray as a group or on your own, and be part of a chain of prayer through the week.
We are excited about the Week of Prayer this year, as we seek to build on what we began last year and see God at work in us and in our world as we pray. Please join in, sign up to pray, and spread the word about the Week of Prayer 2015!
